http://www.sunderlandsoftwarecity.co.uk/ Tue, 07 Feb 2012 19:06:41 +0000 en hourly 1 Vacancy: Freelance PHP Developer http://www.sunderlandsoftwarecity.co.uk/ http://www.sunderlandsoftwarecity.co.uk/#questions Tue, 07 Feb 2012 11:52:20 +0000 An Newcastle-based e-learning company requires an experienced PHP developer to work on a specific project in-site with them in Newcastle over the next two months to carry out micro-site linking with moodle platform.

A good all-around skillset of Object Oriented PHP/MySQL/HTML/CSS & jQuery is needed. You will be working with an existing team on a related micro-site based on an Object Oriented MVC framework and experience with moodle would be a big plus.

The company is creating a learning platform and moodle is being used at heart of whole system being developed. However Moodle is not always very user friendly. So they have a site based on an Object Oriented PHP MVC mini framework built in house. This site queries upcoming lessons and fetches details about the lessons to present in one easy page for students. They now want to extend this website to give more easy access to students, parents, tutors and admin.

Linking to moodle db they want to create an attendance system, course setup system, document sharing system, connect with moodle messaging system and displaying other details fetched from moodle. So if you don’t have experience of moodle you will definitely need in depth knowledge of MySQL.
